The visit of the Darling: Tuesday!

Meet Katherine. She is a darling. She is a darling who gifted me with her presence this week. Katherine is a Canadian Darling from Niagara. She lives currently in the third "largest" city- Tampere.

Tuesday I made it to the central train station on time to pick up a most wonderful lady who was to spend the next few days with me. Our friend Hanna came with her for the day but had to leave by the evening.
We went first to the market to look around. I found a new journal. Over the past few days I have been on edge because my current one is 5 pages tilled filled. If you want an exchange student to have anxiety, have them have their journal almost filled and not have a new one.

Katherine found it. Its hella nice. Imagine the love which every sane human has for freshly baked cookies. That is how nice it is.

this is hannah. hannah is a good person.

so cold. MILLY IS HERE TOO. She surprised me with a bag of cookies this week. She is a keeper also (not like we could get rid of each other but still)

We wanted to go to this museum and well the only way we knew to get there was by my gps. So it lead us to this area and there was nothing there except for an old ran down looking house. Everyone didn't think it was a museum. I did though so of course I just walked and knocked on the door. What do I have to loose.

my museum senses are tingling

I rang the door bell probably more times than I should've, but then a lady came! And it was a museum. The upstairs was given to local artists to live and work in.

Just us four and the lady.

I have seen the real painting of this. It is interesting to find this through out different homes.

Off to the White Chapel!

I love this city more than words can say. I wish you all could see how beautiful it is. I can sit here forever.

We were sitting there because there was a unspoken agreement that we all just needed to reflect about a lot. Katherine and I were talking about how exchange is both the best and worst year of your life. You face terrible things and have to confront so many bad feelings but at the same time you have crazy memories and meet the best people. I think we all just needed a break to think.

During the middle of it music swirled from the organ. It was just us few people and the music in one of the greatest chapels in finland.

This place was so amazing and had a very single design inside. It was so calming and truly was of the most beautiful cathedrals I have been into.

I had to jump out early to go and try on some dresses at Hanale's house. We had tea and talked. I actually found the dress but I want to wait to show everyone until the dance. I am in love with this dress though.

Above is two weird things about Finland which still freak me out- they don't refrigerate the eggs and a lot of the milk (also buy milk in stock)

We came home from a busy day and just chilled and talk. Exchange students have this way of acceptance and complete support I feel. They say you make friends and you make they stay. Katherine is one of those. We are already planning outing when we return to Canada and the States. I am happy for her. (also that's my room)
