The Nuggets: Exploration of the Hipster District
Have you ever seen four teenage girls hauling around backpacks, a map, and laughing nonstop? Well you should.
These girls are so much fun. We went exploring last week and of course we now have to do it every week! I have a check list of things I want to do before I leave here, and mapping out helsinki is one of them. I want to know this city like the back of my hand.
After school, we took the train to helsinki then the metro to Kate's favorite part of helsinki. It was filled with old small shops, little cafes, and ran down buildings. It couldn't have been better. I even found a bag with a giant S on it. S for sekulic!! yeah! We walked over 10km. (still don't know what that is in miles). I came home and passed out. Here are some photos of what we found.
I wish I had all the money just so I could buy a cactus

Finland is extremely equal. I thought I was equal back in the states. And yes I am, but it is unbelievable how much more is here. There is no "being a gentleman", what it is that every one is taught to hold doors open and everyone pays for their own meal. Some say that this is missing out but I find it freeing. Children are taught to be tough and to be equal. Do not expect more or less. I feel as though we could all learn a bit from this.
They always laugh when I take random photos of them, but why wouldn't I want to capture the moments of them!

We also ended up attending a rock concert held in an old ship yard. That happened.
I post so many photos here so I can delete them off of my camera giving me more room for more photos. I like how this works!
Next Friday I think we are going to check out the shore line on southern Helsinki. Bring it on.
